The Fifth Emperor

I am the Shadowed Sovereign, keeper of this realm's memory, and every house in my hall is a king, a knight or a monster of the land, save one. The Fifth Emperor is the pirate. He sails under the flag of a captain who swore to become King of the Pirates, and he came to this realm from the open sea, leveling up and conquering the waters until the shore was all that was left. He carries the name of the emperors of the seas, and he is the brother of the Mand'alor. Where the others see a throne, the Fifth Emperor sees a treasure waiting to be taken.

He stepped aboard at the very end of the Legacy Year, taking the helm of an abandoned ship after a manager was removed from the realm, and the roster he inherited had already gone down with the tide. Of what became of that year I will say only that I keep it in shadow. That offseason the realm voted, and the ship became his in full. The realm had not yet decided whether it was looking at a captain or a stowaway.

His first full season began at the bottom of the standings, and the Snurg Gurgler waited for him there, the ultimate shame. But the Fifth Emperor won the Castleblack Bowl, the last chance of the doomed, and escaped the punishment. No other manager in the history of the realm has done so. A free man in a fleet of trouble, he raised the sail again. In the seasons since he has climbed a little higher each year, winning more games than the year before, and he established the New Initiates Combine, a grueling task every new member of the league must now complete. The sea is vast, and the voyage has only just begun. To close out the Legacy Year, the Fifth Emperor is looking to take the throne by storm and carry the crown across the sea. The season is still being played, and its story is not yet written, but I am always watching.
